Summer 2005 ||--> Talent in Texas

Many talented artists make their home in the state in the Texas despite the fact that Texas does not have a state income tax, which means that funded support for artists' work doesn't exist in significant amounts.

The following individuals are some of the distinctive Lone Star artists I've been personally acquainted with over the years. The hallmark of these artists is their originality. Together they show a range of self-expression that is not limited to a specific regional style. All three have exhibited their work internationally.

James Cobb: An innovative artist working in traditional and digital media as well as audio. MacWorld Art Expo honored the fascinating digital print "Jack," one in a series of embellished full body scans called "Our Children."

Sam Coronado: An accomplished painter and master printmaker whose work is distinguished by multi-cultural influence.

Nathan Jensen: Multifaceted artist whose bent, figurative paintings possess a subtle spiritual quality. Nathan's animation work is featured in the noted Richard Linklater film "Waking Life."
